Painter and printmaker, Peter Clayton, grew up in rural Lancashire moving to Leicester in the early '80s following his Fine Art Degree in Lancaster.
Working in a variety of media and approaches, Peter takes inspiration from his travels, his passion for the garden, and family history.
Peter is a member of Leicester Society of Artists (LSA) and the Leicester Print Workshop where he has his painting studio.
During his career, Peter has shown in over 160 solo and group exhibitions around the country and has work in many private and public collections. Alongside his own practice, Peter has worked on commissions with interior designers, publishers, museums, galleries and fellow artists. Peter teaches part-time at the University of Leicester Embrace Arts Centre, the Fosse Arts Centre and at a number of other colleges and art centres here in Leicester.
