Richard Tuff is an accomplished painter and printmaker. Born in Manchester in 1965 he studied textile design at Winchester School of Art. In 1988, like so many artists before him, he was lured to Cornwall to concentrate on his painting.
Cornwall continues to be his home and the greatest source of inspiration for his work. Using a mix of tightly painted and looser brushwork he depicts the tranquillity of the Cornish coastline and its harbour towns. He cleverly captures the effects of light using a harmonious palette of cool blues, blocks of lush peppermint greens, ochre, primrose yellow and cream.
At the Cank Street Gallery we are showcasing a selection of Richard's original paintings and handmade screen prints.
